In this section you will find information related to payment systems, compiled and published by Banco de México:

1/ Checks: volume and amount in pesos and in USD.
2/ Number of banking cards.
3/ Operations with cards that are operated and compensated through E-Global and Prosa.
4/ Number of ATMs by state and its usage with different type of bank cards (volume and value).
5/ Number of POS by state and its usage with different type of bank cards (volume and value).
6/ Issuers and acquirers provide this information through their clearing houses, so the information could be modified if any error or omission is detected on the part of that entities. Last update: January 18, 2016.
7/ Volume and amount of transactions through different media access: Internet banking, electronic banking and telephone transactions.
8/ Direct debits.
9/ International operations in ATMs, in POS and Internet banking.
10/ Swift transactions related to payment orders (inbound and outbound).
11/ Electronic funds transfers from the U.S. to Mexico through the payment systems connection managed by the Federal Reserve Banks and Banco de México.

Definitions.

"on/us" transactions:
Checks, transfers and direct debits: When the ordering and the receiving accounts lies in the same bank.
ATM and POS: When the bank owner of the device is the issuer of the credit or debit card.

Interbank transactions:
Checks, transfers and direct debits: When the ordering and the receiving accounts lies in different banks.
ATM and POS: When the bank owner of the device is not the issuer of the credit or debit card.
