It is conducted on adults that live in cities/towns with more than 50,000 inhabitants. Data of the last quarter might vary because the database is subject to revisions. 1/ The purpose of this index is to measure the perception on the quality of banknotes in circulation. The scale of the index is 0 to 10, where 0 means that the note is perceived as very damaged and 10 means that the note is perceived as new. 2/ From the fourth quarter of 2019, the index "Percentage of people who review the authenticity of their banknotes" replaces "Percentage of people mentioning that they check their banknotes", which will not longer be updated. 3/ From the fourth quarter of 2019, the index "Percentage of people who did not receive their complete change in the last purchase" replaces "Percentage of people that when making a purchase, the commercial establishment did not have currency change", which will not longer be updated. 4/ Due to the contingency related to the SARS-COV2 (COVID-19) situation, the survey for the second quarter of 2020 was not conducted and the values for the indicators could not be obtained.
