Source: Relation of responsibilities of users of the banking credit and banking balance. From December of 2000 to November of 2005 the statistical information published by Banco de México was obtained from the Informe Contable y de sectorización (ICS) provided by the banks. As of December of 2005 information that at the moment is reported, is obtained from the Annex to the Minimum Catalog (ACM). This catalogue information provided by the bank from the ACM that the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores and other provided sources of intelligence to the Banco de México. As of January of 2007 it includes new dispositions of the CNBV applicable to institutions of credit, which implies reclasifications. The Estado Analítico de Cuentas operated until november of 2000.
Notes:
Commercial bank includes private domestic lenders (national banks and foreign bank branches stablished in Mexico) and foreign bank agencies.
As resulting from adding up figures, consolidated data not necesarily fit the sum of its components.
Latest three months are preliminary.
The credit includes direct performing and non-performing portfolio, and non-charged earned interests on performing and non-performing credits, rediscounted portfolio, restructure programs in UDIS and Government support programs to debtors (ADES).
The concept 63 Restaurants and Hotels is equivalent to the line Tourism presented in the previous methodology.
Since december 2004 banks that are not gotten up that were in liquitadion or bankruptcy process are not included.
Due to inconsistencies detected on companies clasification by economic activity, on june 2015 data reclasification was made from july 2012.
1/ Since July 1995, it includes foreign bank branches stablished in Mexico.
2/ In light of inconsistencies found in the data reports that credit institutions send to the National Banking and Securities Commission (Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores, or CNBV) and to the Banco de México separately, some credits originally under Non habitation buildings (60A) were reclassified in April 2013 as House developer (60F) for the period comprised within May 2009 and January 2013. The affected series include total credit, in domestic and all currencies, and performing and non-performing credit, in all currencies. It is important to emphasize that total credit for the Construction (C) sector is not affected by this revision.
3/ Since December 1994 there is a reclasification from the line of statistical adjustment to service sector and other ac this reclasification is the result of a data review.
4/ In August 2014 the table structure was modified to show additional detail on particular consumer credit segments, including Motor vehicle and Movable property loans (components of Durable goods), as well as Payroll and Personal loans, which used to be included under Other loans. These changes are retroactive to February 2011.
5/ The line of statistical adjustmen corresponds to the differences between the countable source of information and the Relation of Responsabilities.
6/ Is the credit operated among comercial (intrabanking); is not considered in the sum.
7/ This balance is distributed among the different branches of activity of borrowers who participated in government support programs to debtors.
8/ It refers to financing granted to long term infrastructure proyects in national and foreign currency.
9/ Fideicomiso Fondo Nacional de Infraestructura D.O.F. 7/02/2008 (before FARAC).
*/ Since March 2008 the Commercial Bank includes consolidated balances from subsidiaries Sofom E. R. of Credit Cards (Tarjetas Banamex, Santander Consumo and Ixe Tarjetas y Sociedad Financiera Inbursa), which implies the balance of credit to consumption will be bigger than before. Due to this adjustment, the balance of the credit granted to Non-Banking Financial Intermediaries will be smaller.
**/ Since June 2017, Financial Corporation Inbursa (Sofom ER) is no longer part of this statistic because it was consolidated with a company that is not considered in this table. This explains the drop in the June data.
