The exchange rate is the price of a currency in terms of another. It is usually expressed in terms of the number of units of the local currency that must be exchanged for a unit of the foreign currency. In the case of Mexico, it is the equivalent of the peso with respect to foreign currency. The FIX exchange rate is determined by Banco de México based on average wholesale foreign exchange market quotations for transactions to be settled the following bank working day which are obtained from foreign exchange transaction platforms and other foreign exchange market electronic media.
