Composition for all designs
Bimetallic coin comprised of two alloys, one in the center of the coin and the other in its periphery, as follows:
1. Center of the coin. Bronze-aluminum alloy.
- 92% (ninety-two percent) copper;
- 6% (six percent) aluminium; and
- 2% (two percent) nickel.
This composition weighs 3.25 grams.
2. Peripheral ring of the coin. Stainless steel alloy:
- Between 16% and 18% (sixteen and eighteen percent) chrome;
- 0.75% (seventy-five basis points) nickel, maximum;
- 0.12% (twelve basis points) carbon, maximum;
- 1% (one percent) silicon, maximum;
- 1% (one percent) manganese, maximum;
- 0.03% (three basis points) sulfur, maximum;
- 0.04% (four basis points) phosphorus, maximum; and
- The remainder, iron.
This composition weighs 3.82 grams.
