All Type AA banknotes are representative of the monetary unit that was valid until and including December 31, 1992.

Types AA and A banknotes

These sets are comprised of 13 banknotes of domestic manufacture: Type AA (denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and 1000 pesos) and Type A (denominations of 2000; 5000; 10,000; 20,000; 50,000; and 100,000 pesos), representative of the monetary unit that was valid until and including December 31, 1992.

Type C banknotes

These are banknotes issued by Banco de México, in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 New Pesos, representative of the currently valid monetary unit, with characteristics that are different from those of Types AA, A, and B. Sets of this banknote type are available for purchase.

Type D banknotes

These are banknotes issued by Banco de México, in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 pesos, representative of the currently valid monetary unit, with characteristics similar to those of Type C banknotes. Sets of this banknote type are available for purchase.

These are banknotes that have new security features (color-shifting ink and an iridescent band); the set is made up of denominations of 50, 100, 200, and 500 pesos.
