| The backs of the 20-, 50-, 100-, 200-, 500- and 1000-peso notes are printed with fluorescent ink, which shines when exposed to ultraviolet light.
(also known as “black light”).
Banknotes made with paper (100-, 200-, 500- and 1000-pesos) have color fibers—that is, tiny fibers embedded in the paper and distributed at random. Some of these fibers are visible at first glance, while the rest are fluorescent and can only be seen under black light.
In addition, in the 100-, 200-, and 500-peso notes, the micro-printed thread shines when exposed to black light. In the case of the 1000-peso note, the 3D thread also shines when exposed to black light. |
