| Libertad Series |
In 1981 it was decided to mint coins containing 1, 1/2 and 1/4 ounces
of pure gold. The obverse side of the three coins was to bear the national
coat of arms and the reverse side was to have the same design as the centenario,
i.e. the Winged Victory with the Popocatepetl and Ixtaccihuatl volcanoes
on the background.
In 1991 the following gold coins were added: 1/10 and 1/20 oz. |
