Rating agencies are companies that provide, on a regular and professional basis, research, analysis, opinion, evaluation, and dictate on the credit quality of debt instruments, in order to establish the degree of risk these instruments pose for investors.
To be founded and operate as a rating agency, authorization from the CNBV is required, in accordance with the Securities Market Law (LMV).
