Given that banks and financial groups have acquired or established multiple-purpose non-bank financial corporations, regulated entities (sofomes E.R.), to manage a portion of their credit portfolio to different market segments, from June 2016 and retroactively to March 2008, commercial bank data are shown consolidated with the corresponding data of their sofomes E.R. subsidiaries. Fore more details, see explanatory note of the press release "Monetary Aggregates and Financial Activity in July 2016" (Agregados Monetarios y Actividad Financiera en julio de 2016). Data on credit granted directly by sofomes E.R. subsidiaries of commercial banks and financial groups are published in section Assets and liabilities of other depository non-bank corporations (CF357 Multiple-purpose non-bank financial corporations (re), subsidiaries of commercial banks y CF356 Multiple-purpose non-bank financial corporations (re), subsidiaries of financial groups).
In August 2014 the External credit series was modified due to a reclassification made by one company of a fraction of its liabilities from External suppliers to Other current liabilities with national counterparts. The change is retroactive to March 2007.
1/ In February 2022, the information of External credit and External debt issuance were revised retroactively to March 2013 affecting the series of which they are part. The External credit series as well as all the series of which it takes part: External financing (peso and dollar denominated) and Total financing.
2/ Previously this concept was known as "External direct financing". Foreign suppliers of Mexican companies, external credit bank and other creditors are included. Foreign Comercial Bank Credit is obtained from Banco de México's survey: "Outstanding Consolidated Claims on Mexico".
