A 1kg pure silver coin depicting the "Aztec Calendar" was issued during a special event held at the Museo Nacional de Antropología located in Mexico City in 2007.

The coin is set with several accessories which include a case which its design evokes a pre-hispanic brazier specially designed to keep and exhibit the coin; a certificate of authenticity with serial number; a book allusive to the Aztec Calendar's history, minting and coin's issue; as well as a magnifying glass to observe the fine detail of the piece.

Since 2020, the Aztec Calendar 1 kg silver coin has new features in its mode of presentation. The case has a diamond-shaped design with beveled contours and the coin's logo in laser engraving. The interior of the case is lined with velvet and includes an octagonal-shaped, folded-type certificate holder that contains a brief description of the Aztec Calendar and a certificate of authenticity.

The Aztec Calendar. At the upper part, parallel to the coin frame and following its edge is the legend “CALENDARIO AZTECA” (AZTEC CALENDAR). On the right, is the Mexican mint mark, while on the left is the “$” sign followed by the number “100” . On the left hand side, parallel to and following the edge, is the year of minting followed by the legend “1 kg PLATA PURA LEY .999” ( 1 kg PURE SILVER FINENESS .999). The frame is flat.

In the center is a sculptural relief of the National Shield encompassed by the legend “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS” (UNITED MEXICAN STATES). Surrounding this, following the edge of the coin frame are reproductions of the different National coats of arms used throughout Mexico's history, such as the eagle which appears in the center of the first page of the Codex Mendocino. The frame is flat.
