Securities market

The securitues market includes the market for debt securities, also known as the money market, and the equity (stock) market. The debt market allows resources to be channeled (through bonds, deposit certificates, promissory notes, etc.) among economic agents that have a surplus of loanable funds with those that have deficits (usually companies and governments). The stock market allows companies to obtain resources through the issuance of new capital (shares, certificates of ordinary participation, etc.), which gives the acquirers a share in the property and profits of those companies. The exchange of securities (debt and equity securities) takes place in organized markets (stock exchanges), both domestic and foreign, that operate with transparent rules and are available to the general public.
