AA- and A-type banknotes and coins, of the monetary unit that remained valid/in force until December 31, 1992, are currently demonetized. This means that they are no longer legal tender and cannot be used to carry out transactions. Their current value is equivalent to one thousandth of their denomination.
AA- and A-type banknotes and coins were demonetized as from January 1, 1996. AA- and A-type coins were demonetized as from November 15, 1995.
